Guarantee and Assured Rectification of Defects

1 ALU doors and other products from the manufacturer are certified in accordance with EN 14351-1:2006+A2:2016 and the relevant regulations and standards. The manufacturer's products therefore come with a guarantee (according to the guarantee certificate) for the product and the installation.

2 A product may consist of several different components, for which different guarantee periods apply.
Guarantee claims can only be made upon presentation of the invoice and the guarantee certificate – both in original – which is why, when making use of customer service, the AB number (the data plate is located on the door leaf) must be provided, on the basis of which the product for which customer service is being claimed can be clearly identified.

3 Guarantee claims can only be made if the purchased product has been regularly and promptly maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

4 Guarantee claims must be submitted in writing to the seller of the purchased product. In the event that the seller is no longer commercially active, the guarantee claim can be submitted directly to the manufacturer.

5 The customer receives the guarantee certificate after delivery or acceptance of the product together with the invoice and a care/maintenance manual.

6 The manufacturer grants the following guarantee periods for its products:

3 years

• On the functionality of the installed fittings and other moving parts.
• On the functionality of the electronic components.

5 years

• On the airtightness of the thermal insulation glazing.
• On the durability of stainless steel handles and grips, provided there is no mechanical damage or changes to the surface as a result of environmental influences.

10 years

• On the functionality of the product – the operability and tightness.
  
• On the weather resistance against unnatural colour changes and cracking on the surfaces and on anodised and powder-coated aluminium door profiles.

The guarantee period begins with the invoice date of the delivered product.

7 30-year warranty:
Inotherm guarantees that its products can be repeatedly repaired as required, thus ensuring functionality and a service life of up to 30 years. Functionally equivalent but visually different components are also considered spare parts. Electronic components are excluded from this. The services required to maintain functionality and the necessary parts, working hours, etc. will be charged according to the current price list.

8 The buyer can make a complaint about visible defects under the following conditions:

• that he inspects the product immediately upon acceptance,
• that he requests rectification of the defect without delay,
• that he attaches appropriate evidence to the complaint (copy of the acceptance protocol, photographs, copy of the payment receipt, AB number).

The buyer must report visible defects in writing on the delivery note prepared by the manufacturer. No visible defects will be recognised without a note on the delivery note. Complaints will be considered at the latest within 8 days of receipt of the goods, unless the defect could not have been detected even with careful inspection.

If the complaint proves to be justified, the manufacturer will deliver the goods free of charge and carriage paid to the original place of delivery. The defective parts must be returned before replacement deliveries. It is not the entire item that is replaced, but only the damaged individual part.

9 The buyer can make a complaint about hidden defects as a warranty case or under the guarantee under the following conditions:

• that the defects are documented with appropriate photographic material immediately upon their occurrence and are submitted to the manufacturer in writing together with the complaint,
• that the complaint includes a copy of the guarantee certificate, the AB number, the photographic material, etc.,
• that the complaint includes a description of the defects as well as information about the user and the property in which the complained product is installed (address of the property, contact number of the buyer or user).

10 The seller will inform about the legitimacy of the complaint within 8 days after it has been made.

11 The buyer can assert material defects if he reports them to the seller within 2 months of their occurrence.

12 The following cases are excluded from guarantee and warranty claims for product defects:

• minor deviations in design, colour, dimensions, etc.,
• product defects as a result of exceptional effects of the property,
• if the complained product was installed at the express request of the buyer despite obvious defects that the seller wanted to rectify before installation,
• if the product was exposed to extreme weather conditions, salt water or aggressive gases before or after installation,
• in the case of improper use (force) or in cases of force majeure (natural disasters, explosions, fire, storms, ...),
• defects as a result of interventions in the product and its parts by unauthorised persons (fittings, locking mechanism, glazing, ...),
• if the customer himself or through an unauthorised person has adjusted the door and as a result the fittings, seals, profiles, etc. have been damaged,
• if the product has not been maintained in accordance with the operating instructions received from the seller or if the manufacturer's care/maintenance instructions have been disregarded during maintenance,
• if the buyer requests the manufacture of elements in dimensions that the manufacturer advises against and which do not comply with the manufacturer's technical standards and regulations,
• surface changes caused by environmental influences,
• if installation, replacement or customer service was carried out by a person not authorised by the seller,
• deviating colour shades and wood decor structures,
• different shades and colours of ALU elements.

13 Guarantee claims for defects for which the customer is responsible are excluded.

14 Individual door leaves including frames that are higher than 2700 mm and wider than 1260 mm are excluded from the guarantee on functionality, tightness and against warping of the leaf.

15 The rights of the buyer, who has informed the seller of a defect in good time, expire within one year from the day of the complaint with the request for rectification or replacement to the seller.

16 The seller must rectify the product defect within 45 days of the written complaint. If it is a defect for which the seller is responsible and the defect cannot be rectified, the seller will grant the customer a credit note for the inferior product or replace the installed product.

17 In the event of replacement of installed products, the guarantee period starts anew from the installation of the product.

18 If the defect is rectified later than within the deadlines set out in paragraphs 6.16, the buyer is only entitled to compensation for any damage resulting from work not carried out on time or incompletely if he was unable to use his property due to the defect in the installed door. In this case, the buyer is entitled to a contractual penalty of 0.5% per day up to a maximum of 20% of the contract value. The contractual penalty covers all damages incurred by the buyer as a result of not being able to use his property.

19 If the seller fails to fulfil his essential obligations through his own fault, compensation for damages to persons or their property is limited to the sum insured under the seller's liability insurance.

20 If the seller supplies the buyer with goods from another manufacturer, the seller is not liable for the corresponding damages and defects. In this case, the buyer must address his claims directly to the manufacturer.

21 In the event of a limitation of liability and warranty on the part of the seller, this also extends to his employees and the persons in his distribution network.

22 If the buyer of products for which the manufacturer provides a guarantee is a self-employed entrepreneur or a company that has purchased these products for resale to consumers, the guarantee periods from § 6 and § 7 are extended by 1 month. The date of sale is deemed to be the invoice date of the respective product.

23 In the cases from the previous paragraph of this section, buyers should primarily address their guarantee claims to the seller, who will forward justified complaints to the manufacturer, unless otherwise agreed between the seller and manufacturer, whereby the seller must provide all information from § 8, 9, 10, 11 for the assertion of a claim.

24 It is expressly agreed that the manufacturer is only liable to the customer for replacement or repair of the defective goods (parts). Further claims, e.g. for rescission of the purchase contract (cancellation) or reduction of the purchase price (reduction) or compensation, in particular for reimbursement of wages, default interest, penalties for delay, are excluded, unless they are claims for compensation for the lack of properties that have been expressly assured in writing with the note that liability is to extend beyond the above warranty claims. This does not apply where liability is mandatory, e.g. under the Product Liability Act, in cases of gross negligence or intent, or for injury to life, limb or health. The claim for damages for breach of essential contractual obligations is, however, limited to the typical, foreseeable damage, unless there is gross negligence or intent or liability for injury to life, limb or health. This does not entail a reversal of the burden of proof to the disadvantage of our customer.

25 Warranty claims become time-barred one month after the rejection of the complaint. The warranty period also applies to the assertion of warranty claims; after the expiry of the period, their assertion is excluded.

26 It is the duty of the purchaser to check whether the goods ordered or proposed by the manufacturer are suitable for the intended use; the manufacturer cannot assume any warranty for this.

27 The buyer who resells the purchased products must respond to any complaint or claim as quickly as possible and resolve it to the satisfaction of the end customer.

28 Replaced parts must be returned within 60 days. If the claimed spare parts have not been returned within this period, the manufacturer is obliged to invoice them. If the claimed goods are returned after the 60-day period and after invoicing, a credit note will be issued for the invoice amount.

29 The spare parts must be sent by express or handed over to the driver with the next delivery. Returns can also be organised separately.

5-Point Locking with Round Bolts and Hooks (Standard)

Secure doors are essential for a safe home. That's why all our doors come factory-fitted with locks featuring a 5-point locking system with solid bolts, providing extremely high burglary protection. The front doors in this series are equipped as standard with a high-quality 5-point locking system and a continuous, adjustable strike plate made of solid stainless steel. This ensures increased security. Backset 45 mm.

5-Point Locking with Security Latch

Additional security with an integrated security latch, controlled opening – ideal for secure ventilation and safe contact. Sturdy multi-point locking.

5-Point Automatic Locking

With the new automatic multi-point locking, four locking elements extend 20 mm simultaneously. The automatic latch bolt contains a mechanical trigger which, when touched by the frame, causes the latch bolt and swinging hook to extend.

Additionally, the deadbolt in the main lock can be re-locked via the cylinder, blocking the handle. The elements of the secondary lock case are retracted, tensioned, and reset for the next operation via the handle or key.

The door handle is a crucial design element that should be selected both aesthetically and ergonomically. With us, you can expect an extensive range of levers and pull handles in various shapes and lengths.

This gives you the opportunity to give your door a classic or modern appearance. Depending on the model, you can choose handle lengths from 750 mm to 1800 mm or even full-length pull handles.

All handles are made from stainless steel.

Base installation profile

The base installation profile enables optimal, simple and stable front door installation on the unfinished floor and provides a thermal break between the interior and exterior areas of the floor structure, preventing what is known as a thermal bridge.

The base installation profile is configurable in heights from 30mm to 320mm.

The thermally broken aluminium threshold in silver is standard. Version with concealed fixings.

Base static profile

The base static profile with positioning groove and sealing tape is standard. With an optimal cross-section at the bottom, it guarantees an absolutely dimensionally stable construction of your door, which is very important for transport and for quick and precise installation.

Glazed elements help to make the entrance area brighter and more inviting. At the same time, frosted glass provides the necessary privacy and enhances the appearance of your door.

With Inotherm door models, you can choose between clear glass, frosted glass, and frosted glass with a 20mm clear glass border.

The glazing consists of triple glazing.

Delivery is made “kerbside only”. Further transport to the installation site or storage location should be carried out by you and at least one helper. The transport packaging remains with you.

As front doors are heavy and unwieldy, you should have two helpers ready for delivery. This way you can safely accept and store your door.

Please enter your desired frame dimension in millimetres. Thanks to state-of-the-art CAD-controlled manufacturing techniques, your new front door will be produced to the exact millimetre.

Order width

Determine the distance between the two reveals or wall rebates and subtract approximately 10 mm clearance on both the left and right sides. The resulting value is the order width.

Calculation: Reveal or wall rebate internal dimension minus 20 mm = order width.

Order height

Allow for an installation clearance of about 10-15 mm at the top and on each side to align and seal the door element correctly.

Measure from the top edge of the finished floor to the underside of the wall reveal. Subtract 10 mm clearance at the top. The resulting value is the order height.

Calculation: Floor/wall reveal internal dimension – 10 mm = order height.
